A Book Review
I read a story called The Boy Who Cried Wolf. It is about a boy and some farmers.
Long time ago, there was a boy watching his sheep in the field all day. Every day passed so slowly to him. Everything was boring and peaceful. He had nothing to do all day. Then one day he had an idea, “Why don’t I fool the villagers by crying ‘wolf’ to them? That’s such an interesting and exciting thing!” Then he cried, “Wolf! Wolf!”
All the villagers hurried to help. But they didn’t see any wolves. The boy laughed happily. They were very angry and went back to their village.
“That’s funny,” he thought. Then he did this many times. He was never bored again.
But one day, a wolf really came. The boy was so scared and cried “wolf” as loudly as he could. But no one believed him. At last, the wolf ate all the sheep.
I like this story very much, because the story has a deep meaning: If you always tell lies to others, then no one will believe you. And when you are in trouble at last, no one will help you. Be honest and always tell the truth.
